Guitar Chords and Tabs

‘The Animal Fair” is an extremely easy 2-chord song in a major key. We suggest the key of A major, as both chords A and E7 are essential for beginners.

The melody range that results when singing in the key of A is the octave A4-A5 (see on the Music Sheet following). This range is well suited to most children’s voice pitch. Nevertheless, you could use a capo to transpose to Bb, B, C or C# major by placing it respectively on fret I, II, III, or IV.

Easy Guitar Sheet Music with Chords, Notes and Tablature

This is a simple transcription for guitar with bass and middle voice plus recommended fingering. As much as the song is great for singing with kids, it is also an ideal piece for guitar beginners. We suggest this version with accompaniment for those who would like a more sophisticated approach.

Regarding the left hand, you will play the notes on the first and second position and up to the 5th fret. Two or three fingers must be held together at the same time in order to perform the accurate duration of the notes. Keep in mind the three Sharps (F#, C#, G#) throughout the piece !

This version is excellent for right hand mobility and control. You can practice apoyando, tirando and full chords with p-i-m-a. We use apoyando for the melody so that it will stand out clearly. In the first beat of each bar, however, where there is a full chord, try to accent your ring finger (a) more than the others. The concept here is to build a strong tirando stroke that won’t fall short in terms of volume compared to the apoyando ones.
