10 Powerful Christian Easter Kids Songs to Worship and Celebrate

Navigation Blog

Some months after Christmas, Easter marks the coming of spring and it is a holiday that children look forward to. Despite the sadness that characterizes Holy Week, Easter Sunday is filled with optimism for young and old ones alike.

Along with our other Easter song selection, the songs of the following collection have a more religious character and convey the message of this great celebration, the message of love. Love from Jesus to Man, but also from men to their fellow men. The lyrics of some these songs are based on texts from the Bible.

Whether it is for your children or your students, it is important to sing and discuss the meaning of religious holidays: no matter what the religion, people around the world have their own way of remembering the value of love, peace, trust and gratitude towards Life, which lead to solidarity and prosperity of all humanity, through the Holidays.

Yancy & Little Praise Party | The Bunny Song

“Easter is not about eggs and new clothes” say the Lyrics, in a cute enough way to make the transition from eggs and bunnies to the religious meaning of the days of Easter. Yancy Wideman Richmond is a musician dedicated to Christian music and her songs are exclusively for children.

Jamie Owens-Collins | I Am the Resurrection

I am the resurrection and the life” is an extract form John 11:2 and a main verse of the song’s lyrics. The songwriter and singer Jamie Owens-Collins added the rest: “Every one of us needs rescue from sin / That’s why Jesus came to die / Jesus told us if we put our trust in Him / We will have eternal life / Jesus rose up from the grave / Here’s the promise that He gave“.

Shawna Edwards | Because

One more woman songwriter, Shawna Edwards, dedicates her work to the Christian repertoire. The song that follows indicates faith in Him and in the power of prayer.

Because He walked with men, I know the way

Because He calmed the storm, I’m not afraid

Because He bowed beneath all things, He lifted me above

Because He shed His blood for me, I know His love

And I will praise forever

The Savior of the world

And I will sing together

With all the saints on earth

Because He gave to me everything, He had to give

I breathe, I see, I hope, I love, I live

Because He conquered death, I’ll live again

Because He is my friend, I’ll follow Him

Because He felt all grief and pain, He makes my burden sweet

And when He comes to earth again, I’ll knee before His Feet

And I will praise forever

The Savior of the world

And I will sing together

With all the saints on earth

Because He gave to me everything, He had to give

I breathe, I see, I hope, I love, I live

God’s Kids Worship Band | On That First Easter

In a more dance style, the children’s choir here sings to celebrate the First Easter and the Resurrection.

Celebrate that Jesus lives
Celebrate the love that He gives
Ever and ever, “Hosanna” we’ll say
Because of that Easter day
Because of that Easter day

On that first Easter
He rose to save
On that first Easter
Conquered the grave
On that first Easter
Stone rolled away.
Everything changed between God and man
On that first Easter day

On that first Easter
Redemption won
On that first Easter
God’s plan was done
On that first Easter
He made a way
Conquered death with one breath now He lives
On that first Easter day

Celebrate that Jesus lives
Celebrate the love that he gives
Ever and ever, “Hosanna” we’ll say
Because of that Easter day
Because of that Easter day

On that first Easter
God showed us grace
On that first Easter
Love had a face
On that first Easter
Clouds rolled away
Jesus, the Son of God, left the grave
On that first Easter day

Celebrate that Jesus lives
Celebrate the love that he gives
Ever and ever, “Hosanna” we’ll say
Because of that Easter day
Celebrate that Jesus lives
Celebrate the love that he gives
Ever and ever, “Hosanna” we’ll say
Because of that Easter day
Because of that Easter day
He’s alive!
He’s alive!

VeggieTales | When I Think of Easter

As the name suggests, the figures of VeggieTales are tomatoes, asparagus, eggplants, bananas and other vegetables and fruits in animated form. The episodes aim to guide children through life through Bible-based topics.

The first of the next two songs is a gospel for Easter, while in the second the main theme is forgiveness.

VeggieTales | The Forgiveness Song

Palmy: You know that in love we can forgive
It is the only way to live
Obey God and see that we can live in harmony!
Since God has forgiven us, it’s true
You forgive, I’ll forgive you
I’m gonna start to show forgiveness from my heart!

You know that in love we can forgive
Hey man! It is the only way to live
Obey God and see that we can live in harmony!

Since God has forgiven us, it’s true
You forgive, I’ll forgive you
I’m gonna start to show forgiveness from my heart!
So do your part, and show forgiveness from your heart!

Cedarmont Kids | Jesus Loves the Little Children.

Above all, if we are talking about love as Jesus taught it, let us not forget to emphasize to the children that it does not distinguish between races and colors. The following song reminds us of it in the most melodic way.

Jesus loves the little children
All the children of the world
Red and yellow, black and white
They are precious in His sight
Jesus loves the little children of the world

Jesus died for all the children
All the children of the world
Red and yellow, black and white
They are precious in His sight
Jesus died for all the children of the world

Jesus loves the little children
All the children of the world
Red and yellow, black and white
They are precious in His sight
Jesus loves the little children of the world

Jesus loves the little children of the world

Praise Hymn Tracks | My Savior Lives, Let God Arise, My Redeemer Lives

Our God will reign forever
And all the world will know his name
Everyone together sing a song
Of the redeemed
I know that my redeemer lives
And now I stand on what He did
My Savior
My Savior lives!
Everyday a brand new chance to say
Jesus You are the only way
My Savior
My Savior lives!

Hear the holy roar of God resound
Watch the waters part before us now
Come and see what He has done for us
Tell the world of his great love
Our God is a God who saves
Our God is a God who saves
Let God arise! Let God arise!
Our God reigns now and forever
He reigns now and forever
Let God arise! Let God arise!
Our God reigns now and forever
He reigns now and forever

My redeemer lives!
He lives! He lives!

I know that my redeemer lives (let God arise)
And now I stand on what He did (let God arise)
Everyday a brand new chance to say (let God arise)
Jesus you are the only way (My Savior)
My Savior lives!
My Savior lives!

Sing, Alleluia!

Another children’s choir to complete the list of religious Easter songs for kids. The OLMC Choir sings “Alleluia” glorifying the event of the Resurrection. The lyrics are very easy. Just listen to the song a couple of times with your children to memorize the melody composed by Greg Aguiar and sing together, accompanying the children’s voices.
