Amazing Grace Song Info
“Amazing Grace” is a Christian hymn published in 1779. The lyrics to Amazing Grace, which you can find here, were written in 1772 by the English poet and Anglican clergyman John Newton (1725–1807).
According to the Dictionary of American Hymnology, “Amazing Grace” is John Newton’s spiritual autobiography in verse.
Besides being a hymn, the song has been established as a lullaby in the Christian world, as well as a Christmas song.
It has been performed by various artists and most recently it was Andrea Bocelli who sang it on Easter Sunday during the 2020 COVID pandemic in front of an empty Duomo Cathedral in Milan, Italy.
